Alright, first off let me say Hello! ^_^ I'm new to the community and this is my first post here.

I am searching for a custom made, screen accurate, science division, third season, TOS uniform top. I have absolutely zero sewing skills, so making one myself is out of the question. I don't want to spend a large amount of money, I am trying to stay within a $100-$150 dollar budget. I've found two sites: http://biturl.cc/CTd and http://biturl.cc/nxb

To me, neither one looks accurate. On the first one; the color is way off, and the insignia is gold instead of silver. On the second one; the color is still completely wrong, the insignia is again gold instead of silver, and the rank braids are far too small.

I know I'm being picky, but my thoughts on it is that if I'm going to spend money on something like this then I want it to look nice! I'm determined to find one.

Tips? Advice? Websites?

     1 A friend recently described me as a "fat Star Trek fan." I was almost hurt, however, the truth will set you free.

     2 I received the Star Trek DVD for christmas. That's awesome, but I still don't have any clips of the outtakes that contained Klingons.

    3 Lastly,  George Takei was on NPR's "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" today. It made me remember the scene in the first Star Trek movie where Sulu is flustered by the Deltan woman who tells him "I've taken an oath of celibacy." The contrast of sulu's fiction and Takei's reality was amusing.

whats a good movie and general sci fi LJ community?

This might be unimportant, but why did Q appear just once in DS9? Kinda like him disturbing Picard and Janeway.

Ive had lots of debates but no arguments here
